Rooms in the River View Hotel are simple and evocative of earlier times.  Room 6, at right, retains the original 1920's hotel furnishings including a bureau and a wash stand.  The hotel has been modified over the years, and all rooms now include a private bath.

We’re not the least expensive place in town.  On the other hand, we do offer 100% cotton sheets and linens that we dry outside on the clothes line.  No synthetic fabrics.  Natural citrus cleaners without harsh chemicals.  No employees, so Linda and I do all the cleaning, making beds, yard work, landscaping, etc.  This is the only hotel in Calico Rock and the only lodging in Calico Rock on the National Register of Historic places.   We care about this old hotel and are scrupulous in our work to keep it immaculate, without introducing fancy.   Guests have told us that in all their travels, this is their favorite place to stay.

All Rates given below are for two people and include our local 10.5% tax and a light breakfast*
All guest rooms are non-smoking and are on the second floor.  All guests have access to the sun porches.
While there are 8 guest rooms, the hotel is “full” when we have 10 guests in 5 or fewer rooms.

*Breakfast:  For breakfast, we begin with coffee, tea and orange juice in the hotel’s lobby.   Folks gather here about 8 to discuss the day’s plans, meet other guests, or hear a bit about the history of the hotel or local attractions from Linda and Mark.  Most often this is followed by a light breakfast with an assortment of cereals, fresh fruit, organic jams and jellies, and bread for toast, but occasionally we get more adventurous.

Heating and Cooling:  When the weather gets warm, we install window air conditioners in each room.  When the weather gets cold, electric heaters in each room supplement the centrally-located heater downstairs.

Extra guests:  Extra people are $10 per person per night.  Please ask us about rates for children.

Credit Cards:  While we accept credit cards (MC, Visa) to reserve rooms, we accept payment by cash or check.

Cancellations:  Reservations must be cancelled 24 hours or earlier before the scheduled arrival.  Credit cards are charged only when reservations are neither filled nor cancelled.

Special Holidays:  Two-night reservations required for Folk Fest weekend, Bean Fest weekend, and some holidays.

Check-in and check-out:  Check-in time is after 3 PM.  If you will be late, please let us know and we'll make arrangements to get you the room key even if we're already asleep.  Check-out time is 11 AM.

All rooms are upstairs, and smoking is not allowed inside the hotel.
