Historic Hotel Overlooking the Beautiful
The River View Hotel will close October 30 for the winter season. We’ll reopen around the 1st week
in April, 2012.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who visited with us in 2011. We made many new friends and enjoyed seeing
old friends again.
11/27: The hotel yard is full of
fall asters. They go all summer looking
like weeds and here in the fall we’re surrounded by white flowers. We’ve also got some ageratum, white snake
root, and zinnias blooming. Our yellow Jessamine
has lots of blooms thinking it’s spring again—but that
may be over after this weekend. The
Iceberg rose in the south yard is beautiful and fragrant.
We use only 100% cotton sheets, towels, and other linens and dry them in
the sun on the clothesline out back.
This is a mom and pop business.
There’s no business manager or receptionist. Our target audience is guests that appreciate
historic hotels. If you’re interested in
outdoor activities or local music, we’ll be happy to provide suggestions from
our more than 20 years experience in the area.
While there are 3 motels on the highway, we’re the only hotel and the
only downtown lodging that overlooks the river.
